It's About
Hi! We're glad you found us!
This blog covers many of the stories in our lives but, it consists primarily of the day-by-day journals of Runningbird's hiking of the major south-to-north trails of our country: The PCT, the CDT, and hopefully, one day, the AT.
This now is our story of Peggy's hike on the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) as seen by me, Wingman, and our dog Beau from the road as we lend support to the Runningbird. This year, 2024, we'll be starting from the southern most terminus of the trail at the border of New Mexico and Mexico somewhere south of Lordsburg, New Mexico. We actually started out on the CDT in 2023 from near West Yellowstone and completed the northern section through Glacier National Park to Canada at Waterton Park, CA.
This is a continuation from the original adventure "Woman Walking Home" that Peggy and I started back in June of 2019 and the Pacific Crest (PCT). It was the story of the days leading up to and including our days along the PCT from Campo, CA at the Mexico border through Carson Pass near So. Lake Tahoe, CA. and compiled the years following to the final completion the end of 2023 at Manning Park, Canada east of Vancouver, BC. Peggy "Runningbird" doing the leg work and I (Wingman) supporting from the road and at that time pulling our 23 foot travel trailer.

The blog includes those early days leading up to and then continuing on the PCT through the year of the Great COVID Pandemic. Peggy hiked a short section of the trail during that year from the Bridge of the Gods on the Oregon-Washington border to White Pass in WA and there is a short blog entry to cover that.

We are both now in our "upper" 60's, In 2020 we adopted a two-month old Golden Retriever puppy "Beau" to our household and he's added so much to our lives. Now we continue on with new adventures.
